Goodwill Community Foundation's Global Learning
   This gives a whole list of online classes, including Windows XP, Internet Basics (which includes lessons on both Internet Explorer and Netscape), several MS Office programs (Word, Excel, and more), etc.  You can see the first three lessons of each topic as a non-member, and then register (which is free) to create a login to see the rest of each course.

New Hampshire Library's links to Net Classes
  This is a page from a NH library's site.  They give a set of links geared to learning the Internet, web browsers,
email programs, etc.  A few links seem to be out of date, but several of them go to sites that look interesting.

Learn The Net
  This page has been mentioned on our home page for some time.  It gives an excellent overview to various Internet topics such as "Searching the Web", "Bookmarks and Favorites", "Choose your start page", "Download Files - How to do it", and much more.

Scanner tips - gives a wealth of info on how to get the most out of your scanner.

Shopping links

Shopper - Search engine for buying over the internet.  You tell it what you want to buy, and it searches out many sites which sell the product, and gives you a list of sites, sorted by price.

Pricewatch - Specializes in comparison shopping (a variety of merchants) for computer products.  Their prices are hard to beat!

Ebay - An internet auction service.  You have to register (free!) to use it, then you can bid on items.  You can buy or sell just about anything.

Cyndi's List (Cyndi Howell) - Cyndi's list provides HUGE lists of genealogy sites, sorted by category.  It has won Dick Eastman's "Best Genealogy Site on the Web" at least 2 past years, and continues to rank in the top 5.

Ancestry - A huge site where you can do free searches, or pay money to get access to more resources, including federal census's online. 
Search the Ancestry World Tree

Family Tree Maker's Genealogy site - a rival of the Ancestry site.
FamilySearch (LDS site) - This site opened in early April 1999.  It contains a huge amount of data from the Latter Day Saints (Mormons) databases including the Ancestral File, International Genealogical Index (IGI), etc. - This also opened in April 1999, sponsored by Ancestry/MyFamily.  It offers the 10 million-name World Tree and many free genealogy message boards.
Roots Web - contains hundreds of Gigabytes of free genealogy data.

Genforum - Surname message boards where you can post queries and in general find other people researching the same ancestors.
Roots-L - email list for surnames.

The Genealogy Home Page - gives links for online genealogy resources (guides, people searches, software, etc)
The Olive Tree - the main menu here includes Canada, Mennonites, NY, NJ, Mohawk nation, Ships' lists
